To get started, I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation as an opportunity for both of us to see if we are a good fit.
My appointment hours are Monday through Friday mornings and early afternoons Pacific Time. After the first appointment, you have the option to book online through my scheduling website. I am often booking about one to two months ahead. If you are unable to get an appointment in the near future, you may add yourself to my cancellation list.
Individual session: $200 (includes GST)
Couples session: $225 (includes GST)
Please contact me directly regarding rates for distance/family/group therapy, clinical supervision, and research/consulting.
Fees are subject to change with notice.
Appointments are 50-60 minutes in length (usually weekly or biweekly to start). Longer sessions are pro-rated.
Note: My sliding scale is presently full. I reserve a portion of my practice and reduce my fee for people with low to no financial support, savings, or income due to disability, unemployment, etc. Clients who pay the regular fee help to make my counselling work more accessible for people struggling to make ends meet.
For services provided outside of office sessions, such as phone calls, consultations with other professionals, and report writing, the above hourly rates may vary and will be charged for each 15 minute interval.
For the health and safety of all practitioners and clients, please use scent/fragrance-free laundry, hair, and body products when coming to see me. I ask that clients refrain from wearing clothing that has been exposed to scented deodorant, candles, incense, essential oils, fabric softeners, perfume/cologne, chewing tobacco, and smoke. The chemicals used in scented products can rub onto furniture and make some people sick due to allergies, lung conditions, and other illnesses. If you arrive wearing scented products or clothing, your appointment will be rescheduled. You are welcome to contact me if you have any questions or would like a list of scent-free products. And yes, unscented coconut oil is okay!
If you need to change an appointment, please let me know 2 business days prior (48 hours notice). If you cancel in less than 48 hours but we are able to reschedule your session that same week, there is no charge for the cancellation. If we are unable to reschedule your session, late cancellations are charged in full.
What if I am running late?
If it is safe to do so, please let me know. If you are 20 minutes late for a session, the appointment will be considered as a missed appointment and you are responsible for payment.
Interac e-Transfer, PayPal or cash accepted. Fees are to be paid in full before the appointment or on the day of. Distance sessions are to be paid in full before the appointment.
Crime Victim Assistance Program
I am approved to see clients with Crime Victim Assistance funding, which covers a portion of my fee.
Student/Extended Health Benefits
Some employers, colleges, and universities will provide partial coverage. At the end of each session, I email you a receipt that you can submit to your benefits provider. Contact your benefits provider to find out if your plan covers the fees of a Registered Clinical Counsellor.
Chinatown Office Accessibility
Near major transit routes with a parkade across the street. The building has a non-automatic entrance door that I can assist with opening. While my office is scent-free, the building itself is not, with the occasional burning of incense outside. There is an elevator with sufficient space for a wheelchair. The washrooms are gendered. Each washroom has two stalls, can accommodate a wheelchair, and requires a key from my office. My counselling office has a bamboo hardwood floor and can accommodate a wheelchair. There is natural lighting from a skylight. Seating is a large sofa that can accommodate bodies of different sizes, and there are also cushions and a foot stool. You are welcome to contact me if you have any questions or accessibility needs before your session.
I offer telephone and video counselling appointments on a limited basis for clients who have relocated or are not able to access on-site therapy.
